Breed Info

German Shepherd

The German Shepherd is a remarkable breed, deeply rooted in history as they were originally developed in Germany for herding and protection. This intelligent and versatile dog has evolved into a devoted family companion, known for their loyalty and protective instincts. German Shepherds thrive in family environments, exhibiting a gentle temperament that makes them great with young kids and other dogs, while still being careful around cats. If you're looking for a friend who is not only affectionate but also eager to be part of every family activity, this breed will fit right in.

With a moderate energy level, German Shepherds require regular exercise to keep them happy and healthy. They enjoy daily walks, playtime, and mental stimulation to channel their intelligence. This breed's size makes them less suitable for apartment living, as they appreciate having space to roam and explore. Regular grooming is essential, as their shedding can reach a moderate level. A weekly brushing will help keep their coat looking its best while keeping your home relatively tidy.

Training a German Shepherd can be a delightful experience, as they yield to learn commands and new tricks with remarkable speed. Their high trainability speaks to their intelligence and willingness to work alongside their humans. With a penchant for barking, they tend to alert their families to any potential intruders, making them effective watchdogs. If you are ready to provide the love and exercise they crave, a German Shepherd could be the perfect addition to your family in Petland Columbus, Ohio.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My niece dragged me to this place 😘. I was able to get a chance to look at all the great different breeds of puppies...all more than cute, clean, well cared for. Most of them were sleeping or ' taking a break" from being "just awesome."
