Information
Havanese
The Havanese is an endearing breed with a rich history that traces back to the small dogs brought over by Cuban nobility. Originally bred as companion animals, these little charmers maintain that affectionate demeanor, making them exceptional for families and individuals alike. Their friendly disposition shines through as they form deep bonds with their owners, and they get along wonderfully with young children, making them a great fit for family life. You will also find that they are generally good with other dogs and even cats, showcasing their sociable nature.
With moderate energy levels, Havanese enjoy a good romp around the house or a playful walk outside, but they are equally content to curl up on the couch beside you after a fun playtime session. Their apartment-friendly demeanor means they adapt seamlessly to smaller living spaces, making them ideal companions for urban dwellers or those without a large backyard. Despite their small size, these dogs do appreciate regular exercise, and with a weekly grooming routine, you can maintain their stunning, flowing coats while keeping shedding to a minimum.
Trainability is another of the Havanese's strengths. These dogs are eager to learn and thrive on positive reinforcement, which allows for a rewarding training experience that builds on their natural intelligence. Their barking tendency is moderate, adding a playful alertness without being overly noisy. If you are looking for a loving and versatile companion, the Havanese could be the perfect addition to your family, especially here at Petland Columbus, Ohio, where your future furry friend is waiting.
